We often forget it, we sometimes skip it for lack of time... and yet conditioner is not a “bonus” step. It is what seals the work of the shampoo, and what makes all the difference between clean hair and genuinely beautiful hair. Here is why it deserves a permanent place in your routine.
Shampoo and conditioner: two roles, two zones
Shampoo works on the scalp: it cleans away sebum and impurities at the root. Conditioner takes care of the lengths and the ends, the oldest and most fragile part of the fiber. Two complementary gestures, never interchangeable.
What really happens on your fiber
Every hair is covered in scales, like the tiles on a roof. When they lie properly closed, light catches: the hair is smooth, soft, and easy to detangle. But washing, brushing, heat, sun, and color all tend to lift those scales. The result: rough, dull hair that tangles and breaks.
Conditioner comes in to close the scales back down and lay a protective, moisturizing film along the length. It is the step that visibly repairs the fiber and protects it over time.
5 good reasons to stop skipping it

- Moisture. It nourishes the ends, where natural sebum no longer reaches.

“My hair is oily, this is not for me”
A myth. If your roots turn oily quickly, the secret is simple: apply conditioner to the lengths and the ends only, never to the scalp. You get the detangling and the protection without weighing the roots down.
How to use it well
After shampooing, squeeze the water out of your hair, then apply conditioner from mid-length to the ends. Leave it on for 2 to 3 minutes so the actives can work, then rinse with lukewarm water. As an intensive treatment, on very dry hair, you can leave it in on the ends.
